Andhra Samajam of Greater Milwaukee is a socio-cultural organization devoted to advancement of Telugu culture in the Greater Milwaukee area in Wisconsin. It seeks to promote and coordinate Telugu cultural and community activities with the goal of recognition as a unique association that unites all Telugu speaking people from the State of Andhra Pradesh.

Established in 1980s, Andhra Samajam of Greater Milwaukee has been in existence for more than 25 years. The main purpose of our association is to serve the people of Telugu origin living in the Greater Milwaukee area. Ours is a socio-cultural organization governed by an executive committee elected every three years.

Under the auspices of the organization, we meet 5 times a year to celebrate important festivals and functions that are dear to people from Andhra Pradesh. Our membership has grown in the last few years and currently there are approximately 300 families. Members of our organization have actively participated in other community events, particularly in relation to Hindu Temple of Wisconsin and our organization is a member of Association of South East Asian Nation coalition of Wisconsin.

The purposes of our organization shall be

1. To promote, preserve and perpetuate Telugu Culture among the residents of Greater Milwaukee area in general and among the Telugu Speaking people in particular.  

2. To organize and promote cultural, literary, religious and community events that reflect Telugu Culture    

3. Fostering contacts and promoting co-operation with other Asian Indian organizations in the greater Milwaukee area and in the state of Wisconsin as well as networking with other Telugu Organizations in USA  

4. Invite performing artists, literary scholars and social activists from within the United States and India and promoting cultural exchange.    

5. Celebration of Sankranthi, Ugadi, Vinayaka Chaturthi, Deeewali festivals annually and to organize special events like Telugu Mela periodically to sustain the spirit of Telugu culture among the members and their children.
